Legends have it that some of the clans of Asante Nation originated from a hole at Asantemenso near Asumegya. The clans were Oyoko and Aduana. Some of the remaining clans too, state that their ancestors descended from the skies.
Manhyia Palace Museum
The Manhyia Palace Museum used to be the residence of Otumfuo Prempeh I and Otumfuo Sir Osei Agyeman Prempeh II, K.B.E. the 13th and 14th Kings of the Asante Nation. Top Floor: Room 3 - The Great Hall
The room contains the effigies of Nana Opoku Ware ll, Asantehene from 1970-1999 and of the present Queen, Nana Afua Kobi Serwaa Ampem ll, whom he installed Asantehemaa in 1977.
